3.5 Operation instruction in the field

Attention!
The machine may only be operated by persons who are familiar
with the operating instructions and the safety instructions.
Prior to first start:
Make yourself familiar with functions of this machine.
Furthermore:
Never remove any malfunctions while the drive is running.
Never remove any crop material from the machine while the
drive is running.
During operation:
 Make sure there are no people in the danger zone during
operation. This is especially important when working near or in
areas that are accessible to the public. Respect sufficient
distance to the machine (pick-up, running gear, bale unloading
area).
As a matter of principle:
 Never sit or stand on or in the Lely AP baler or thrower P23.
Riding on the machine is prohibited for the entire machine!
 Keep children away from the machine!
 Nobody must stay between tractor and machine!
 Never operate the machine with defective or removed
protective devices (e.g. casing sheets and distance brackets)!
Before opening the protections:
Switch off PTO shaft and tractor engine, remove the ignition key
and interrupt the electrical connection between tractor and
machine; Wait until all moving parts have stopped, Disconnect
drive shaft depressurize the hydraulic system. .

3.5.1

Laying of swaths

The full performance of the machine can only be when laying
the crop in even swaths. The machine will then work
continuously and at maximum output.
To obtain the best performance from the machine, the tractor
speed should be matched to the swath height.
Where the swath is denser stop the tractor briefly and allows
the baler to clear it.
