7.6 Mutual effects of scaling and aspect ratio settings

The setting of the scaling mode limits in certain cases the setting of the aspect ratio. "H
res" and "V res" correspond to the horizontal and vertical resolution respectively.

7.7 Safe area marker settings

The safe areas are defined in EBU Technical Recommendation R95-2000, ITU
Recommendation ITU-R BT.1379-2 and SMPTE Recommended Practice RP218-2002.
The following safe area marker settings are defined:
• For 16:9 signal formats and when the safe area markers are defined relative to the
aspect ratio markers (1920x1080, 1280x720 and Wide SD):
