7. APPLICATION OF FUNCTIONS
(2) Writing data to Modbus registers
When writing data to a 4-byte Modbus register or a Modbus register containing multiple elements, use
the device data transfer function to store the data of a GD device in the Modbus register.
Set the following items 1) to 3) in the device data transfer window.
1) Points
Set the number of Modbus registers (No. of Registers).
2) Source device
Set a GOT data register (GD) in which the data of a Modbus register is stored.
3) Destination device
Set a servo amplifier station number and a Modbus register address. The address must be
converted into the device number readable on GT Designer3 before setting. For how to convert
Modbus register addresses, refer to section 7.1.1 (1) (a) 2).
POINT
When reading/writing data from/to a Modbus register with one GOT data register
(GD), use different device data transfer IDs for reading and writing.
When writing data to a 4-byte Modbus register or a Modbus register containing
multiple elements, store the data in consecutive GD devices.
