Controls and Calibrators

Review how to reconstitute controls and calibrators on the FP 1000.
B
Review how to load controls and calibrators into the control/cal rack, noting to check for
B
bubbles/foam.
Note that the IMMUNO-TROL control tube must be bar-coded and run in a CONTROL cassette.

Reagents

Level sense for reagents is not user-selectable and is always enabled. Level sense for
specimens is user-selectable for random processing mode only and is not available for
batch processing mode.
Level-sense functionality is optimized for cassette types 0-6. Level-sense functionality for
cassette types 7-9 is based on 13 X 75 mm tubes. For best results, use specimen tube types
specified in the manual.
Review how to reconstitute reagents on the FP 1000.
B
Review how to determine whether or not the racks have sufficient reagents to meet the test
B
requirements.
Review how to load reagents into the different reagent racks (Small, Large/Small, Large, Bulk),
B
noting to check for bubbles/foam.
Review how to properly prepare and load Flow-Count fluorospheres, noting to check for
B
bubbles/foam.
Demonstrate how to replace the IsoFlow container and empty the waste.
B
Demonstrate how to replace IMMUNOPREP reagents, VersaLyse Lysing solution, and/or
B
IOTest 3 Lysing Solution (ammonium chloride).
Describe the reagent level-sensing system, associated errors, and how to respond.
B
Differentiate between the reagents that are monitored by the level-sensing system and those that
B
are tracked by counters.
Demonstrate how to restart the reagent counters.
B

Specimens

Review proper specimen collection, storage, age, and handling. Note that the system does not
B
have clot detection. Review the need to vent any specimen tube that was not fully filled (has
