    Getting Started Phone Status You can view phone status via phone user interface or web user interface. Available information of phone status includes: Network status (IPv4 status or IPv6 status, IP mode and MAC address).  IPv4 uses a 32-bit address. IPv6 is an updated version of the current Internet Protocol to meet the increased demands for unique IP addresses, using a 128-bit address.

    Customizing Your Phone Customizing Your Phone You can customize your SIP-T42G IP phone by personally configuring certain settings, for example, time & date and ring tones. You can add contacts to the phone’s local directory manually or from call history. You can also personalize different ring tones for different callers.

    Customizing Your Phone Language The default language of the phone user interface is English. If the language of your web browser is not supported by the phone, the web user interface will use English by default. You can change the language for the phone user interface and the web user interface respectively. To change the language for the phone user interface: Press Menu->Settings->Basic Settings->Language.

    DSS Keys There are two types of DSS keys: Line Keys and Programable Keys. Details will be introduced in the following. The SIP-T42G IP phone supports 15 line keys and 11 programable keys. Line Keys You can assign predefined functionalities to line keys. You can also define a label for a line key feature which will appear on the LCD screen.
