g. If encoder IP address changes are needed, go to the System tab. Changes to the Data
ports can be done on Data Main's and Data Back-up's IP, Mask, and Gateway fields.
Changes to the control/management IP address can be done on the Control's IP address,
Mask, and Gateway fields. Note: the control IP address and the data addresses cannot be
on the same subnet (for example, one at 192.168.77.xxx and the other two at
192.168.77.yyy); the first three octets must not be the same. The default address for the
Data port is 192.168.79.100.
Click on the "Apply Parameters" button if changes are made and the system will reboot. If
subnets have changed, reflect similar changes on the controlling PC.

Configure decoder:
a. For IP input, match whatever Destination IP and Port numbers are set for the encoder.
For example, per above, a decoder would need to receive on IP=239.79.0.100 and
Port=1234.
b. Make sure the decoder input is selected correctly to IP input.

Troubleshooting (should the system not respond as expected, confirm or perform the following
procedure):
a.
Control/management interface can be pinged.
b.
Both data interfaces can be pinged. Verify that the destination IP address and port values
match on the encoder and decoder. Test this by using VLC running on a PC to decode the
encoder's MPEG-over-IP output stream.
c.
Power cycle the encoder whenever there is an input format change.
d.
If Control and Data are accidentally set to the same subnet, connect the Control cable to
the Data port and try surfing to both the Control and Data IP addresses.
e.
If the Control IP address is unknown, connect the Control port to an Ethernet hub and run
Wireshark, which is available on http://www.wireshark.org/download.html, on a PC. Power
cycle the encoder and look for an IP address (power up message sourcing from encoder).
Factory support is necessary to identify other means of discovering the Control IP address.
