IMPORTANT:
The interface cards of the switch are not hot swappable.
Use the HP 830 unified wired-WLAN switch uplink module together with an XFP transceiver module.
The HP 830 unified wired-WLAN switch uplink module is used for copper-to-fiber and fiber-to-copper
conversion in optical signal transmission. The module requires fiber cables with LC connectors.

Installing an HP 830 uplink module

Wear an ESD-preventive wrist strap and make sure it makes good skin contact and is well

grounded.
Unpack the module.

Loosen the captive screws on the filler panel over the module slot with a Phillips screwdriver, and

remove the filler panel.
Squeezing the module by the captive screws on the front panel, push the module steadily into the

slot along the slide rails until it is firmly seated in the switch.

Fasten the captive screws on the module to secure it in place.

NOTE:
Keep the removed filler panel safe for future use.
Do not over-tighten the captive screws on the front panel of the module.
