When I make or receive a phone call after pairing and connecting my cell phone to the
SCOUT, why can't I communicate using the phone?
When the cell phone is paired and connected to the SCOUT, the phone's speaker and
microphone become disabled and the audio is then routed to the SCOUT.
When I receive the SCOUT, do I need to do anything to the sensors to link them to the
SCOUT?
No. All sensors purchased and shipped with the SCOUT are linked prior to shipping. Be
sure to read all sensor instructions before use.
Can the SCOUT be operated in a cold environment?
Yes. The SCOUT can be used in temperatures ranging from -20 degrees Fahrenheit to
150 degrees Fahrenheit.
How long will the SCOUT run on internal battery?
When operating in temperature ranges between 65 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit, the
SCOUT can last up to 3 days. Things that will negatively impact battery life include the
following: temperatures outside of range stated above, number of sensors linked in range
of the system, number of alarm activations, number of outputs used, and use of the
Inactive-Time Scheduler (lit LEDs).
When pairing my SCOUT with my Bluetooth capable phone, how do I know which device
is the correct SCOUT?
The SCOUT will appear as "SCOUT xxxxxx" on your phone with a six digit number
appearing in place of the xxxxxx. The six digit number can be found on the underside of
the radio door of your SCOUT. Your Bluetooth capable phone can be paired to multiple
devices at one time, but can only be connected to one at a time.
