The Primex Eco Clock requires very little maintenance. Below are procedures for maintenance.

Backup Battery

If the CR123 backup battery drains significantly, the second hand will double step when light is present (Model 14149
only). This indicates that the backup battery needs to be changed to ensure that the clock functions normally.

Backup Battery Guidelines

Under optimal operating conditions, the life of the Primex Eco Clock CR123 backup battery is ten years. Therefore, it is
important that you use fresh, superior-quality batteries, with an expiration date at least ten years past the installation date.
Completely removing power from the circuitry helps ensure that the clock cleanly starts after replacing the backup battery.
Since the Primex Eco Clock contains both a rechargeable battery and a backup battery, you must remove the jumper in
order to fully remove power from the circuitry.

Replace Backup Battery

1. Remove the clock from its location so that you can access the back of the clock. For additional information, see
"Remove the Primex Eco Clock" located on page 9.
2. Remove the CR123 backup battery.
3. Remove the jumper located on the two rightmost pins of the connector. For additional information, see "Start the
Primex Eco Clock" located on page 7.
4. Wait one minute.
5. Reinstall the jumper on the two rightmost pins.
6. Install the new CR123 backup battery.
NOTE: Insert the battery '+' end to '+' end of the battery holder to achieve proper battery orientation.
The clock will turn on the radio receiver and the second hand will advance one step every 5 seconds until time signal is
received (Model 14149 only). Once the time signal is received, the hands will advance rapidly until the clock reaches the
correct time broadcast by the transmitter. If light conditions are adequate, the clock will operate normally.

Check Hand Alignment

Perform this procedure only in the rare event that the hands are showing the wrong time.
1. Remove the clock from its location so that you can access the back of the clock. For additional information, see
"Remove the Primex Eco Clock" located on page 9.
2. Press and hold the button on the rear of the clock. The clock will beep 2 times. Continue to hold the button for 3
seconds until the clock beeps 2 times again. The hands will begin to move at an accelerated pace until the hands
align at the 12 o'clock position.
3. Press and hold the button again. The clock will beep 2 times. Continue to hold the button for 3 seconds until it
beeps 2 times again. The clock starts. If light conditions are adequate, the clock will operate normally.
