Our buildings are shuttered for 3 months over the summer. How will this affect the Primex
Eco Clock?
The Primex Eco Clock is designed to handle this situation. When the Primex Eco Clock does not receive sufficient light for
full operations, it conserves energy by ceasing the second hand sweep (Model 14149 only) and less frequently
synchronizing time with the transmitter. Assuming that the clock was fully operational at the beginning of the summer,
the clock can operate with energy conservation over the summer. If the clock remains without adequate light for longer
than 3 months, it will begin to draw power from the backup battery.

Will the Primex Eco Clock work in most rooms?

While the Primex Eco Clock is suitable for many rooms, it may not be ideal for low light rooms such as cafeterias or
gymnasiums. Before planning to use the Primex Eco Clock, use a light meter to determine optimal locations for the clock.
When we turn the lights on, the Primex Eco Clock isn't working. After a minute or two, the
clock begins to work. Why does the clock stop and start?
The Primex Eco Clock generates the energy it needs to work from the light in the room. Every minute, the clock checks the
light conditions to determine if it is receiving enough light for normal operations. When the lights are turned off, the clock
detects that it can't generate enough energy, so it conserves energy by ceasing the sweep of the second hand (Model
14149 only). The clock is still working, so when you turn the lights on, the clock waits a minute and detects that the light is
sufficient, and again begins to move the second hand.

Will the clock run without the CR 123 battery?

No, the CR123 backup battery is necessary to operate the clock.

Will a brighter concentration of light (higher lux) charge the clock faster?

Yes, up to 600 lux, charging occurs at a slightly faster pace. Ideal conditions still require at least 220 lux for 8 hours per day
5 days per week.
