Installation Guidelines

The Primex Eco Clock is for indoor use only.
l
Depending on your security needs, you can choose among several options for hanging the Primex Eco Clock.
l
The most secure method uses the Clock-lock feature, specially designed hangers precisely 9 in. apart at the top
l
and bottom. The Clock-lock feature is designed to prevent accidents if the clock is bumped, and they may
reduce theft by requiring a particular combination of moves to remove the clock.
For a moderately secure method, use only the top Clock-lock feature.
l
To avoid the Clock-lock feature altogether, use a finishing nail with no head angled at 45 degrees into the wall
l
in place of the top headed screws and anchors. The clock will then mount and can be removed like a standard
clock.
Use the screws and anchors provided with the clock for installation. If you choose not to use the provided
l
screws and anchors, you can substitute a #6 screw. The screw must protrude from the wall .350 in. (.889cm).

Start the Primex Eco Clock

Before hanging the Primex Eco Clock, you start the clock and verify that it is receiving adequate ambient light and
transmitter signal in its final location. Below are procedures for these tasks.
1. From the back of the Primex Eco Clock, move the jumper connector from the two leftmost pins to the two right
most pins.
Figure 4: Move the Jumper
2. Install the CR-123 battery.
NOTE: Insert the battery '+' end to '+' end of the battery holder to achieve proper battery orientation.
The clock will turn on its radio receiver. The second hand will advance one step every five seconds until the time signal is
received (Model 14149 only). Once the time signal is received, the hands will automatically advance rapidly until the clock
reaches the correct time broadcast by the transmitter. During this process, the second hand may stop and start
periodically (Model 14149 only). If light conditions are adequate, the clock will operate normally.

Verify Adequate Light and Signal

The Primex Eco Clock requires adequate ambient light and transmitter signal. Before hanging the Primex Eco Clock in the
final installation location, verify that ambient light and transmitter signal are adequate in that area. Adequate ambient
light is necessary for full clock functionality with the clock's photo cell supplying all energy requirements. Placing the
Primex Eco Clock in an area with adequate signal will reduce the amount of harvested energy used for powering the radio.
