Component Teardown
Air Filter Removal
The air filter is located inside of the left door above ice
maker chute.
To replace the PureAdvantage
1. Open the air filter door.
2. Remove the old filter and discard it.
3. Unpack the new filter and slide it into the housing.
4. To close the air filter door, push the top and bottom
to lock the door closed. (See Figure 6-49)
5. Press and hold the Air Filter Reset button on the
control panel for three (3)seconds. When the display
changes from "Replace" to "Good," the status has
been reset.
6. The Air Filter Reset will turn itself off after a few
seconds.
Air Filter Removal (Non-dispenser Models)
The air filter is located under the utility bin. To ensure
optimal filtering of refrigerator odors, the air filter should
be changed every six (6) months (the filter status light on
the Touch Panel prompts you to replace the filter after
six (6) months).
To replace the PureAdvantage
1. Open the air filter door. (See Figure 6-50)
2. Remove the old filter and discard it.
3. Unpack the new filter and slide it into the housing.
4. To close the air filter door, push the top and bottom
to lock the door closed.
5. Press and hold the Air Filter Reset button on the
control panel for three (3)seconds. When the display
changes from "Replace" to "Good," the status has
been reset.
6. The Air Filter Reset will turn itself off after a few
seconds.
Fresh Food Compartment Thermistor Removal
The food compartment thermistor is located to the right
of the center shelf support bracket, just above the crisper
on the back wall of the food compartment.
To remove the food compartment thermistor:
1. Disconnect power from unit.
2. Extract the screw securing the air vent to the back
wall of the unit.
3. Pull thermistor out of the bracket and disconnect the
Molex connector coming out of the back of the liner.
(See Figure 6-51)
