Introduction.
Pollution is the major enemy of hydraulic circuits and components. A large proportion of the operating
incidents with hydraulic equipment is due to high pollution.
⇒ Pumps and piston motors as well as the control systems are becoming more and more efficient, with
higher yield rates, whilst reducing the internal clearances to limit leakage (internal and external).
These components also represent relatively high costs.
⇒ The application of a few simple maintenance rules linked to a well designed depollution system is the
way to guarantee long service life of the equipment.
⇒ Keeping the circuits clean is all the more justified as it depends more on a state of mind of the
individual than on any technical or financial means.
