Write Filemarks Command

The Write Filemarks command writes one or more filemarks on tape starting at the
current logical position.

Write Setmark bit
0 = Write filemarks
Immediate mode:
0 = Return status after filemarks are written on tape
1 = Return status after filemarks are in the buffer.
Note – Must be in buffered mode if the immediate bit is set
otherwise the command is rejected.
Number of filemarks to write
A Write Filemarks command with Transfer Length of 0, and
Immed of 0 forces all buffered data to be written on tape. No
additional filemarks are written and Good status is returned
after all buffered data is on the tape.
Note – Refer to the Write command for information about media
errors and logical end of tape (LEOT).
