Suppose a routing table entry exists for interface 8 that identifies the
route as a Type 1 external metric with an associated cost of 10. This policy
configures the router to export direct interface 8 from its routing table
and write the routing interface information to its link state database as a
Type 2 external metric, with an associated cost of plus 2. As a result the
router advertises the interface over the network as a Type 2 external
metric with an associated cost of 12, overriding the external metric type
and cost that are defined for the interface in the system's routing table.
Export Example 5: Advertisement of Static Routes
The policy defined in Table 56 configures a router to advertise all static
routes as Type 1 external metrics with a cost of 1.
