Tilt brake unit assembly

15
To assemble the tilt brake unit assembly
15.1 If removed, press the bearing (3) into the tilt brake disc (2).
15.2 Thoroughly clean and degrease two inner brake pads (13) the outer brake pad (11) and the brake
disc (2). Install the brake pads in the pan brake calliper (12), ensuring that the rounded edge of the
outer brake pad (11) faces outwards. Install a suitable piece of scrap material between the inner and
outer brake pads to retain them in position.
15.3 Install the assembled calliper in the LH side plate (5).
15.4 Turn the tilt brake disc (2) so that the cut-out in the disc is aligned with the calliper, then push onto
the LH side plate (5). Light tapping is permissible.
15.5 Turn the tilt brake disc (2) so that the disc passes between the brake pads, driving out the scrap
material installed earlier. Set the disc so that the flat on the mounting face is vertical. Lightly screw in
the brake shaft (6) to secure the disc.
16
To install the tilt brake unit assembly
16.1 Position the assembled LH side plate in the mechanism housing (14), ensuring that the pin on
the spring actuator seats correctly in the needle roller (4). Secure with three screws (1).
16.2 Referring to
