Balance mechanism

To remove the balance mechanism
11.1 Remove the tilt drag unit assembly
11.2 Remove screw (30) from actuator shaft (33).
11.3 Pull the bearing needle roller (13) out of the mechanism housing (8).
11.4 Remove spiral ring (10) from the groove in mechanism housing (8) and allow it to rest on the
neck of balance knob assembly (9).
11.5 If the dowel pin (26) has been properly centralised, it will be possible to pull the balance knob (9),
adjustment slide (34) and actuator shaft (33) out of the mechanism housing. The balance knob may
then be unscrewed from the adjustment slide and two thrust washers (11) and the thrust bearing (12)
removed.
11.6 If the assembled balance mechanism cannot be pulled out of the mechanism, unscrew the
balance knob assembly (9) and remove from the mechanism housing, together with two thrust washers
(11) and the thrust bearing (12). Manoeuvre the assembled adjustment slide (34) and actuator shaft
(33) out of the mechanism housing.
11.7 Lift the spring actuator assembly (28), spring (32), buffer (2298), spring end cap (31) and screw
(30) out of the mechanism housing. The buffer (29) is retained in the end cap (31) with Loctite 495.
11.8 If required, drive out pin (26) to separate adjustment slide and actuator shaft. Remove glacier
bearing (27)

Electrical system

To remove the components of the electrical system
NOTE:
The electrical wiring is secured using self-adhesive PTFE film. Note the position for
reassembly.
12.1 Remove the battery (2).
12.2 If not already removed, remove screw (11) securing the PCB housing to the mechanism housing
(4).
12.3 Pull the push-button cap (6) off the switch on the PCB (9).
12.4 Separate the upper and lower PCB housings (5, 7).
12.5 Remove any PTFE film securing wiring and pull the LED (8) out of its housing.
12.6 Release the battery housing (3) from the mechanism housing (4) by pushing in the clip. Note the
polarity and pull off the battery connectors (10).
12.7 The PCB and wiring may now be removed.
