Notices used in this book

This book contains information notices that relate to a specific topic. The Caution
and Danger notices also appear in the multilingual Safety Information book
provided on the IBM xSeries Documentation CD. Each notice is numbered for easy
reference to the corresponding notices in the multilingual book.
The notice definitions are as follows:

Major components of the xSeries 370 server

The orange color on components and labels in your server identifies hot–swap
components. This means that you can install or remove the component while the
system is running, provided that your system is configured to support this function.
The blue color on components and labels indicates touch points where a
component can be gripped, a latch moved and so on.
The following illustrations show the locations of major components in your server.
Note: The illustrations in this document might differ slightly from your hardware.

hazardous to you. A danger notice is placed just before a description of a
potentially lethal or extremely hazardous procedure step or situation.
