• De-energize the aircraft (GHSH TASK 24-41-00-860-802-A/200).
(5) Open the access door 194BL.
C. Fuel Tank - Water Draining
WARNING: DO NOT LET JET FUEL AND LUBRICATING OILS TOUCH
YOU. THESE FLUIDS CAUSE INJURY TO THE SKIN.
(1) Do the steps that follow to drain the water from the fuel tanks:
(a) Use the fuel sampler (GSE 022) to push the drain valve poppet up to
open the drain valve.
NOTE: The drain valve closes when you remove the GSE 022
(b) Remove the GSE 022 after you drain a sufficient amount of fuel.
NOTE: Make sure that the drain valve poppet is in the closed posi-
(2) Visually examine the collected fuel for contamination. If you see microor-
ganisms or other unwanted matter in the fuel, use a Fuel Microorganisms
Test Kit (Microb Monitor 2) to check the presence of microorganisms.
Obey the instructions of the test kit manufacturer.
NOTE: Refer to the full instructions (aviation fuel item) to do the pro-
cedures.
(4) If the Fuel Microorganisms Test Kit (Microb Monitor 2) detects the presence
of microorganisms, please use the contact information given in the GHSH
Introduction for the applicable maintenance action.
WARNING: WHEN YOU DISCARD DANGEROUS CONSUMABLE
MATERIALS, USE PROCEDURES THAT AGREE WITH
LOCAL
CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND CONTAMINATION OF
THE ENVIRONMENT.
(5) Discard the collected fuel.
(6) Do this procedure again for the other drain valve.
D. Job Close-Up
(1) Close the access door 194BL.
(2) Remove the grounding cable(s) from the aircraft (GHSH TASK 20-40-02-
910-801-A/200).
