1. Main Hydraulic System - Hydraulic System Pressurization with a Hydraulic
Test Stand (HTS).
A. General
(1) This task gives the procedure to pressurize the hydraulic system with the
hydraulic power unit.
(2) The person who will operate the hydraulic ground power unit must be
approved to do it.
B. Job Set-Up
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE AIRCRAFT IS IN A SAFE
CONDITION BEFORE YOU DO THE MAINTENANCE
PROCEDURES. THIS IS TO PREVENT INJURY TO
PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
(1) Do the procedure to make the aircraft safe for maintenance (GHSH TASK
20-00-00-910-801-A).
(2) Open access door 195DL.
(3) Energize the aircraft with an external DC power supply (GHSH TASK 24-
41-00-860-801-A).
C. Hydraulic System-Pressurization with Hydraulic Power Unit
(1) Put a stainless steel container below the work area.
(2) Remove the dust caps from the pressure and return quick disconnect cou-
plings.
(3) Connect the pressure and return hoses of the hydraulic power unit with the
pressure (coupling assembly (dash 4)) and return (coupling assembly
(dash 6)) quick disconnect couplings to the hydraulic manifold.
(4) Energize the hydraulic power unit and start to operate it.
NOTE: The hydraulic power unit will drain the hydraulic fluid from the
system reservoir. Make sure that the hydraulic power unit has
the capacity to hold the reservoir hydraulic fluid.
(5) Set the hydraulic power unit to 20,684 kPa (3,000 psi) and 4.2 l/min (1.1
gal/min).
NOTE: You can adjust the flow as necessary to do the related task.
(6) On the MFD, make sure that the hydraulic pressure increases to 3,000 ±
50 psi.
(7) When you stop the use of the hydraulic power unit, turn it off and de-ener-
gize it.
(8) Disconnect the pressure and return hoses of the hydraulic power unit from
the pressure and return quick disconnect couplings (1 and 2) of the
hydraulic manifold.
