1. Energization of the Aircraft with an External DC Power Supply - Aircraft/
System Configuration
A. General
(1) This task gives the procedure to supply electrical power to the aircraft with
an external DC (Direct Current) power supply.
(2) The 28 V DC (Volt Direct Current), external power supply is connected to
the aircraft through the receptacle installed on the left side of the rear fuse-
lage.
B. Job Set-Up
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT IT IS SAFE TO ENERGIZE THE
AIRCRAFT. CIRCUITS THAT ARE NOT SAFE CAN
CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO
EQUIPMENT.
(1) Make sure that the external power supply operates correctly before you
supply power to the aircraft.
(2) Do the procedure to make the aircraft safe for maintenance (GHSH TASK
20-00-00-910-801-A/200).
(3) If the conditioned air is not necessary, open these circuit breakers and
attach a circuit breaker ring and tag to each one of them:
• TEMP PWR 1-LHCBP (EMERGENCY BUS 1 AIR COND)
• TEMP PWR 2-RHCBP (DC BUS 2 AIR COND PRESN)
(4) On the LH (Left Hand) lateral console, on the ELECTRICAL control panel,
make sure that these switches are set to these positions:
• BUS TIE - AUTO
• ELEC EMER - unlatched (off)
• BATT 1 - OFF
• BATT 2 - OFF
(5) Set the GPU (Ground Power Unit) (GSE 016) to ON. Refer to the GSE
Appendix.
(6) Adjust the output voltage of the external DC power supply to 28 V DC.
(7) Set the GPU (GSE 016) to OFF. Refer to the GSE Appendix.
(8) Open the access door 195CL to get access to the external DC power-sup-
ply receptacle.
C. Energization of the Aircraft with an External DC Power Supply - Mainte-
nance Practices
(1) Connect the GPU (GSE 016) to the external DC power-supply receptacle.
Refer to the GSE Appendix.
(2) Set the GPU (GSE 016) to ON. Refer to the GSE Appendix.
(3) On the ELECTRICAL control panel, do the steps that follow:
