PROBLEM
3. Pilot won't stay lit.
4. Burner won't light.
5. Burner won't stay lit.
CAUSE
Not holding black control
knob in long enough.
Thermocouple connection loose
at valve connection.
Pilot hood misdirecting pilot flame
from thermocouple.
Refractory panels not positioned
against firebox back & sides.
Pilot not lit.
Regulator valve not turned "ON".
Rocker switch not turned "ON".
Rocker switch wires not connected.
Generator wires loose at
regulator terminals.
Generator wire grounded out.
due to pinching of wires.
Generator is not producing enough
millivolts to operate burner.
Wall switch, remote control or
thermostat not connected properly
or turned to wrong setting. See
Figures 14A & 14B, page #16.
Generator wires loose on
valve terminals.
Generator wire grounded out

millivolts to sustain burner operation.
Refractory panels not positioned
against firebox.

SOLUTION
Hold button in longer to heat
thermocouple.
Check connection on valve & tighten if
necessary.
Check pilot flame location.
Flame must be burning on generator
and thermocouple.
Secure refractory panels with high-
temp sealant, especially around the
intake duct.
Relight pilot.
Turn valve to "ON".
Depress switch.
Check wiring diagram Figure 18,
page #22 to ensure that all wires are
secure.
Reposition wire and tighten
screws. See Figure 18, page #22 for
wiring instructions.
Nuts securing millivolt board may
need loosening to remove pinched wire.
Replace generator.
Connect properly or disconnect
and use ON/OFF switch only.
Reposition wires and tighten screws
See Figure 18, page #22.

Check millivolt reading, replace
generator if necessary.
