Crimping a BNC Connector
1. Preparing the coaxial cable
G Before the rubber cap can be slipped onto
the end of the cable that is to be crimped,
you first have to lubricate the end of the
cable.
G To do this, dip about 10 cm of the coaxial
cable into methylated spirits.
G Now slide the rubber cap (with the smaller
diameter first) about 10 cm onto the cable
and the crimping sleeve for about 5 cm.
G Now strip the insulation from the end of the coaxial cable using a coax cable
stripper.
