(a) Wear of connecting rod Replace bearing and grind crank pin
big end bearing
(b) Wear of crank pin Grind crank pin
(c) Connecting rod bent Straighten or replace
(3) Piston, piston pin and piston
ring
(a) Wear of cylinder Rebore cylinder to oversize, and
replace piston
(b) Wear of piston pin Replace piston pin
(c) Seizure of piston Replace piston
(d) Piston ring worn or Replace piston ring
damaged
(4) Valve mechanism and other
(a) Wear of camshaft Replace camshaft
(b) Excessive valve clearance Adjust valve clearance
(c) Wear of timing gear Replace gear
