Using a valve spr ing compressor, compress the valve spr ing and
remove the retainer, spring and valve.
Keep the removed valves
and related parts in order by each cylinder.
Inspection
CAUTIONS:
1.
Check
the
cylinder
head
for
visible
water
leakage
or
damage
before cleaning.
2.
Prior
to
inspection and repair,
clean each part carefully and
remove oil, scale, carbon and paint.
3.
Clean oil holes with compressed air and make sure they are not
clogged.
Cylinder Head
Check
the
cylinder
head
for
cracks, damage and water leakage
before cleaning.
Make sure the oil passage is not
clogged.
Check the bottom of the cylinder
head for any warpage.
Check as
illustrated
using
a
straight
edge and thickness gauge.
