Installing

– Saw through the web (arrow) on
the new brake cable retainer (1).
: Position brake cable (2) in bore of
the brake cable retainer (1).

: Screw home the adjusting
screw (1) as far as stop.
: Fit the clamp screw (2) and
tighten it down firmly.

: Push the brake cable (1), short
hook (2) first, under the hose (3)
and through the housing
bore (arrow).
MS 261, MS 261 C
: Attach the brake cable (1) to the
bore (arrow) in the brake
lever (2).

: Push grommet of brake cable (1)
into the housing bore (arrow)
until it is properly seated.

: Slide the brake cable retainer
with lug (1) through the opening
and press it into its seat (arrow).
: Insert and tighten down the
screw (2) firmly.

: Position the brake cable (1) in the
guide (arrow).
– Install the switch lever, b
– Check operation and adjust the
brake cable, b 5.4.1
– Reassemble all other parts in the
reverse sequence.

The cam lever defines the locked
position of the hand guard.
– Remove the brake lever, b 5.3

: Disconnect the spring (1) from
the anchor pin (2).
– Disconnect the spring (1) from
the cam lever and remove it.
: Remove the E-clip (3).
– Pull off the cam lever.
