To display the USB File Download page
1.
click Maintenance > Download > USB File Download.
2.
Use File Type to specify what type of file you want to download:
Archive. Software image file.
Text Configuration. A text-based configuration file. The factory default is Archive.
Note:
The configuration is downloaded to the startup configuration, following
which the device automatically reboots to this new configuration. A
message indicating this behavior is displayed and must be confirmed.

Use File Path to enter the path to the destination path on USB where the file will be stored.

You can enter up to 32 characters. Include the slash or backslash at the end of the path. A
path name with a space is not accepted. Leave this field blank to copy the file from the root
USB directory

Use USB File to give a name along with path for the file you want to download. You may
enter up to 32 characters. The transfer fails if you do not specify a file name.
6.
Click Cancel to cancel the configuration on the screen and reset the data on the screen to
the latest value of the switch.
7.
Click Apply to send the updated configuration to the switch. Configuration changes take
effect immediately.
8.
Transfer Status displays the status of the file transfer to the switch. When the transfer
actually begins, this block displays information about the progress of the file transfer. The
screen refreshes automatically until the file transfer completes or fails. Upon completion or
failure of file transfer, a message is displayed.

File Management

The system maintains two versions of the switch software in permanent storage. One image
is the active image, and the second image is the backup image. The active image is loaded
during subsequent switch restarts. This feature reduces switch down time when upgrading or
downgrading the switch software.

The system running a legacy software version ignores (does not load) a configuration file
