Troubleshooting

Check the following before requesting repair.
Contact a dealer if a problem cannot be solved even after checking and trying the solution or if a problem is
not described below, or when having a problem with installations.
Problem
Power is not turned on.
No camera image is displayed.
Live video is very bright.
The camera image is dim.
Displayed image does not fit in the
screen.
Black bars are displayed on both
edges of the screen.
The recorder cannot start recording.
The recorder has stopped
recording.
The icon
displays, however, the
recorder is not recording.
The recorder cannot playback
images.
The recorder cannot control
cameras.
Alarm operations are not activated.
The clock does not keep correct
time.
Cannot establish a connection via
the network.
Cannot video clip copy to the USB
flash drive.

Possible Solution
p p Is the power plug connected to the AC outlet firmly?
Ú Confirm the cable is firmly connected.

p p Is the power cord (provided with this product)
connected to the power inlet of the recorder firmly?
Ú Check if it is connected to the limit.
¼
p p Check camera video cable and connections.
p p Check monitor video cable and connections.
p p Confirm that the camera has power.
p p Check camera lens settings.
Check if the cameras are connected to the Video Input
Connectors correctly.
Check if dust may be sticking to the camera lens.
This is not a malfunction. Images may not fit in the
screen of some monitor models because of their
resolutions.
Black bar(s) appear(s) when signals not compliant with
the standard in your locality are transmitted.
p p Check if the Overwrite mode of the Record settings
is checked.
p p Check the Schedule settings.
p p If hard disk drive is full, you will either need to
delete video or set the recorder to the Overwrite
Mode.
p p You can check the free space of HDD, if free space
tab of DISPLAY-OSD settings is checked.
When the recorder is in the Pre-Event recording mode,
the yellow
and
display when there is no event,
and the recorder is not recording. The red
display when any event occurs and the recorder starts
recording.
Check if images have been recorded on the hard disk
drive.
p p Check the connection (RS485 Terminal) of the
camera you are going to control.
p p Check if the camera you are going to control is a
PTZ camera.
p p Check if alarm input signals are properly input to
the Alarm Input Terminal at the rear panel.
p p Check the Alarm-In settings.
Check if the built-in backup battery has been worn
out. The battery life is approx. 5 years. (The battery
lifetime may differ depending on the condition of the
environment.)
Check the network settings of the unit and PC.
Check if it is possible to write in the USB flash drive by
using PC.
