Installation Manual
August, 2011
For Enterprise Systems, Enterprise Manager collects, organizes and
presents configuration and maintenance data from multiple nodes or
branches as a single data set. The Enterprise Manager user is not forced
to collect data of the same type from individual nodes or branches nor
must the user be asked to discard data from one node in order to collect
and view data from another node.
In an IPedge enterprise system there is a second, optional, independent
network plane, the IPedge Net. The IPedge Net (voice network) carries
calls from one node to another.
The two networks are separate and independent. The loss of one network
connection to a node does not mean the other connection will stop. For
example, it may be necessary to change a member node in an IPedge
Network enterprise system to a stand-alone primary. In this event the
node is detached from the enterprise system. The system administrator
must login directly to this node. The database is no longer backed up to
the enterprise primary. However, the IPedge Net calling network will
remain intact. Calls will still be processed as before.
After a node is detached it can be set to Stand-Alone. A stand-alone node
is not connected to the Enterprise System via IPedge Net, is no longer
part of the central administration. The database copy is no longer
maintained at the central node. To access the database the Admin
Terminal must connect to the Enterprise Manager in the stand-alone
system.
