Hardware Monitor Status

Watchdog Timers

This section includes Hardware Monitor Status display setup, Watchdog
Timer setup and BMC Reset.
This page is for monitoring status display.
1. Login to Enterprise Manager. Select Maintenance > System
Maintenance > Hardware Monitoring.
2. Select the Hardware Monitor Status tab.
3. To monitor a component click to check mark the box then, click on the
Activate icon. The Monitoring Status column will show the
component status.
4. To stop monitoring a component click to check mark the box then,
click on the Deactivate icon. The Monitoring column will show
Detection Stop.
5. The Activate or Deactivate change is set immediately.
This tab is used to set the action the system will take if a watchdog timer
expires.
1. Login to Enterprise Manager. Select Maintenance > System
Maintenance > Hardware Monitoring.
2. Select the Watchdog Timers tab.
3. Use the pull-down list to select the Expiration Action.
No Action = No action will occur.
Reboot Without Power Off = When a timer expires the server will
reboot
Reboot With Power Off = When a timer expires the server will shut
down, power down then, reboot (EC and EM servers only)
4. Click on the Save icon.
BMC reset applies only to IPedge EC and EM servers. Click on the Reset
icon to reset the BMC processor on the IPMI card in the IPedge server.
This should be done only on the advice of a Toshiba engineer. The BMC
takes a few minutes to reset. While the reset is processed there is no
monitoring by the BMC.
