Chapter 13: Features firmware and software
Purpose
This chapter describes Avaya 3900 Series Digital Deskphone firmware and software
requirements, as well as the firmware download process.

System software
Both the Avaya 3900 Release 2 Series Digital Deskphones and Avaya Corporate Directory
Application for the Meridian SL-100 require the minimum software loads that

Commercial Software Loads
Federal Software Loads
The Avaya 3900 series Release 3 Digital Deskphones are backwards compatible to MSL11
(XPM 13) for Commercial and to MSL12 for Federal Software Loads; however, some new
feature capabilities are not available until the MSL15 time frame and some require certain XPM
releases. Beginning with MSL17 or MSL15 with XPM17, the Avaya 3900 Series Digital
Deskphones must be upgraded to the Release 3 firmware.
The Enhanced Intelligent Peripheral Equipment (EIPEs) should be on the minimum versions
