5.2.7 Checking Printers via SNMP
The support of printers has been mainly improved via the SNMP interface. Two news prop-
erties are added: Checking the printer properties via SNMP and getting printer status via
SNMP. Refer to appendix 1 to know which OID's are used.
Note that in case of printers that enable PJL bidirectional support, available PJL information
will be preferred to SNMP information.
Checking printer properties via SNMP
With this property activated, the printer will be asked to give all its capabilities. Once gath-
ered, they will be checked against the form properties (see section 2.1).
Getting status via SNMP
Periodically, the printer will be checked to get the status information that is usually dis-
played on the printer panel. It's possible to configure (via the registry), the checking time
(every 10 seconds for instance is the default and the minimum value).

Check properties via SNMP means getting printer capabilities like supported paper size, ,
Cut Sheet Emulation support, etc..
