About the Nortel IP Phone 1140E

Navigation keys

There are a few important keys you should become familiar with to easily
navigate within the many menus of the IP Phone 1140E. Table 3 shows
important navigation keys and describes the function of each.
Note: Menu items are listed and ordered by number. You can press
the number on the dialpad corresponding to each menu item to
activate that menu item, instead of using the navigation key to move
up and down the menu list to highlight the item and then pressing the
Select Context-sensitive soft key.

Press the Left/Right part of the
Key Cluster to:
— Scroll long lines of text when you
view menu lists or the contents of a
list such as the Address Book
entries or items in the Call Inbox and
scroll long lines of text when you
view an IM.
Note: The IP Phone 1140E
automatically scrolls long lines of text
from right to left. When your Search
Method is set to Index Search (See,
"Searching for a contact in the Address
Book" on page 99), you can increase the
speed of the scrolling by repeatedly
pressing the right navigation key or
decrease the scrolling speed by
repeatedly pressing the left navigation
key.
