E.3.2 Reloading via TFTP
Before the Server downloads the new software, it will send BOOTP and/or RARP queries
(BOOTP and RARP queries are enabled by default). Next, the Server will attempt to
download the IQEYE.SYS. file using TFTP (Trivial File Transfer Protocol).
TFTP reloads take place when the camera boots, unlike the FTP method
Note:
which requires that you place the new file on the camera's /flash disk.
If a host provides BOOTP support, it can be used to set the loadhost information. Add the
IQeye camera's name, IP address, hardware address, and download path and file name to the
appropriate host file on the BOOTP server (usually /etc/bootptab).
Some BOOTP and TFTP implementations require a specific directory for the IQEYE.SYS file;
in this case the path should not be specified in the bootptab file but instead the software file
must be placed in that directory. See your host's documentation for instructions on how to
configure the IQEYE.SYS file in this case.If BOOTP cannot be used to configure the Server's
IP parameters, configure them manually by logging into the camera and issuing the following
commands.
E.3.3 Reloading via MOP
The IQeye.SYS file name is the only parameter that the IQeye needs in order to reload via
MOP. To reload the software:
Copy the IQEYE.SYS file to the MOM$LOAD directory.
1
Enable the service characteristic on the host's Ethernet circuit.
2
Reload the server using the Initialize Reload command.
3
If an error message is displayed indicating an invalid record size on the VAX console, it means
that the IQEYE.SYS file was not transferred in binary mode. Download the file again and be
sure to use binary mode.
