Printing from a DOS application in Windows

Printing from a DOS application basically requires a different procedure
than printing from an application based on Windows. For this reason the
procedure is separately described below.

The following is to be taken into consideration!

The following points have to be taken into consideration when printing
from a DOS application executed by Windows:

The printer uses a PCL 3 emulation. Install a PCL 3 capable printer for
each DOS application.

Avoid to change the application during printing when working with
Windows 3.1 or 3.11.

Make sure you are working in Windows.

Select the "options" tab in the Minoltafax 1400 control programme.

Make sure that the function "Deactivate Minoltafax 1400 printer from
DOS" is not cross-marked.

Start the MS DOS input prompt.

Start the DOS application from which you want to print.

Set the HP DeskJet 500C printer as the present printer unit.

There is a monochrome as well as a multi-coloured version of the
printer driver.
If you want to print in one colour only, select the monochrome
version. If you want a multi-coloured print, select the multi-coloured
version.

HP DeskJet 500C not offered as printer?
Use the HP DeskJet 500 as printer with which you can, however,
only make monochrome prints.
