Replacing a UPS in a Parallel System

10. Verify that all UPSs are set to use the same power strategy (High Efficiency or
Standard). You can change the power strategy from the front panel. See Table 4
"User Settings" on page 66.
You can replace a UPS in a parallel system without powering down the system or
protected load.
NOTE DO NOT TURN OFF the system.
To replace a UPS in a parallel system:
1.
Press any button on the front panel display of the UPS to be replaced to activate
the menu options. Select TURN UPS ON/OFF, TURN UPS OFF, and press the
button.
2.
Confirm the selection. Press and hold the
UPS stops beeping.
The UPS removes power to the UPS output.
The output relays open, the UPS transfers to Standby mode, and the
indicators turn off.
3.
Disconnect the redundant signal and CAN Bridge Card cables from the UPS to be
replaced. For the location of the cables, see Figure 36 on page 47.
4.
Disconnect any other cables, such as REPO signals or serial communications.
5.
Switch the UPS load connector circuit breaker to the OFF (O) position.
