Al ough NEC ESMPRO Agent is automatically installed at the ft series setup, the latest module is th
no pplied. You need to apply an update module separately from the NEC Express5800/ft series ft t a
Update CD.

Step 9: Connect and Configure Options

Whe n the re are option PCI boards or peripheral devices to connect to the main unit, power off the
main nit. Then, for connecting them, follow the instructions in "PCI board" in the separate volume of u
th e User's Guide and the manual of the devices.

When the mounted memory is over 4GB (or when the memory size displayed as "Physical
Memory" on the "General" tab of "System Properties" and on the "Performance" tab of "Task
Manager" i s less than the mounted memory), specify /PAE switch to BOOT.INI file.
In order to use the entire mounted memory from the Windows system, /PAE switch needs to be
sp ecified. If i t is not specified, the Windows system only uses a part

Display BOOT.INI file as described below:
1. Right-click [My Computer] and select "Properties" to display "System Properties".
2. On the "Advanced" tab of "System Properties", click the "Settings" button of "Startup and
Recovery".
3. Click the "Edit" button of "System startup" on the displayed window.
Below shows the example of the modification.
