Procedures after Completion of Installation

Applying Microsoft HotFix

After applying Windows Service Pack to NEC Express5800/ft series, follow the procedure below to
apply Microsoft HotFix (Windows OS QFE).
Microsoft HotFix which is required for operation needs to be applied to NEC Express5800/ft series.
Search the Service Pack application status of the system and apply Microsoft HotFix necessary for
operation.
IMPORTANT:
When Windows Service Pack is applied (including reapplication), be sure to apply
Microsoft HotFix.
This Microsoft HotFix is not for applying all patch modules related to Windows OS. It
applies minimum patch modules required for operation.
When "ft series Setup" is performed, Microsoft HotFix (Pre-SP1 QFE) for the system
where Service Pack is not applied is applied.
If you do not apply Service Pack after the setup, Microsoft HotFix does not need to be
applied (there will be no problem if Microsoft HotFix is applied).
When "Updating the System" is performed, Microsoft HotfFix appropriate for the
system is applied.
If you do not apply Service Pack after the setup, Microsoft HotFix does not need to be
applied (there will be no problem if Microsoft HotFix is applied).
How to apply Microsoft HotFix
Logon to the system as a user with administrator authority and apply HotFix.
If you do not have "NEC Express5800/ft series ft UPDATE CD-ROM":
(When using the NEC EXPRESSBUILDER CD-ROM)

Insert the NEC EXPRESSBUILDER CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
The master control menu of NEC EXPRESSBUILDER is automatically displayed by the
AutoRun function.
