Properties Page - External Buttons
The following paragraphs describe how to configure the External buttons in the Button Properties
page. Certain features on the

External buttons are recognized by the touch panel as external button numbers. Refer to
the Properties Page Features section on page 42 for detailed information about buttons. The

Setting external button properties

• FLIP POPUP ON sets the button action to open a popup page. Select the FLIP menu button
to open the POPUP PAGE menu and select a popup page.
• FLIP POPUP OFF sets the button action to close a popup page. Select the FLIP menu
button to open the POPUP PAGE menu and select a popup page to close.
• FLIP PREVIOUS sets the button action to open the previous touch panel page on the panel.
• FLIP STANDARD sets the button action to open a touch panel page. Use the FLIP menu
button to open the PAGE menu and select the target touch panel page.
STRING/MACRO opens the keyboard where you enter the data string to be sent to the
Central Controller via AXlink or RF communications. The data appears in the STRING
button. Press
to close the menu and exit without saving your changes.

ADD creates a new touch panel page. This command opens the keyboard so you can
name the page. If you exceed the space in the button, the touch panel truncates the
message to fit in the space provided (only 20 characters are allowed).
The new page must have a button with assigned attributes before it can be used. Page
naming does not allow you to change the font type.
