Administrator Operations

Popup messages

You may have already noticed that if you hold the mouse cursor over a button or field, a message
pops up describing the button or field. This feature is great if you are just starting and not sure of
where or what everything is in the program. However, once you become familiar with the
intricacies of the program, you'll probably want to disable the popup messages.
1. Click Preferences on the main page.
2. Click Messages to open the Message Setup page.
3. Click No in the drop-down menu to disable the popup messages. Likewise, you can click Yes
to enable the messages.
4. Click Update to save the message settings.

Administration Page

The Administration page contains options to upload files to the WebLinx Server's PC, and to
download files to specific devices connected to a system. File types include touch panel (.TPD),
Infrared Library (.IRL), and Axcess (.AXS). There is also an option to check the status of file
transfers.

Uploading files to the WebLinx Server PC

You can upload touch panel (.TPD), Axcess (.AXS), and Infrared Library IRL files to the WebLinx
Server's PC. When you upload files to the PC, they are placed in the
..\inetpub\wwwroot\WebLinx\admin\filecache folder. Then, you can send these files to specific
Axcess equipment or to the Central Controller.
If using Windows 2000 and uploading does not work, give Full control to the Guest
group.
1. Click Administration on the main page.
2. Click Upload File to open the Upload File page. Then, click Browse to open the Choose File
dialog box and navigate to the target touch panel (.TPD), Axcess (.AXS), or Infrared Library
(IRL) file to be uploaded to the PC.
3. Choose the source file and click Open to stage the file for uploading. The directory path and
filename appear in the File Name field.
4. Click Upload to start copying the file to the PC. When the upload is complete, a Send Touch
Panel File, Send IRL File, or Send Axcess Program File page appears showing the active
filename in the Uploaded Files field. To send a touch panel or Axcess program file, go to
Sending touch panel (.TPD) files, Sending Infrared Library (.IRL) files, or Sending Axcess
(.AXS) files instructions. If not, click Back to Main.
