r_ DsP SURROUND SIMULATION
• The AVR-2805/985 is equipped with a high perfermanoe DSP (Digital Signal Prooesser) which uses digital signal precessing te synthetically
recreate the sound field. One of ten preset surround medes can be selected according to the program source and the parameters can be
adjusted accerding to the conditions in the listening room te achieve a mere realistic, powerful seund. These surround modes can also be used
fer pregram sources net recerded in Delby Surreund Pro Legic, Delby Digital er DTS.
Select this to achieve an atmosphere like that of a movie theater with a large screen. In this mode, all signal sources are played
1 WIDE SCREEN in the 7.1-channel mode, including Dolby Pro Logic and Dolby Digital 5.1-channel sources. Effects simulating the multi surround
speakers of movie theaters are added to the surround channels.
Select this when watching baseball or soccer programs to achieve a sound as if you were actually at the stadium. This mode
2 SUPER STADIUM
provides the longest reverberation signals.
3 ROCK ARENA Use this mode to achieve the feeling of a live concert in an arena with reflected sounds coming from all directions.
4 JAZZ CLUB This mode creates the sound field of a live house with a low ceiling and hard walls. This mode gives jazz a very vivid realism.
5 CLASSIC CONCERT Select this for the sound of a concert hall rich in reverberations.
MONO MOVIE
6 (NOTE 1) Select this when watching monaural movies for a greater sense of expansion.
7 VIDEO GAME Use this to enjoy video game sources.
Select this to emphasize the sense of expansion for music sources recorded in stereo. Signals consisting of the difference
8 MATRIX component of the input signals (the component that provides the sense of expansion) processed for delay are output from the
surround channel.
9 VIRTUAl Select this mode to enjoy a virtual sound field, produced from the front 2-channel speakers
The front left channel signals are output to the surround and surround back signal left channels, the front right channel signals are
10 5CH/7CH STEREO output to the surround and surround back signal right channels, and the in-phase component of the left and right channels is output
to the center channel. Use this mode to enjoy stereo sound.
._ Depending on the pregram source being played, the effect may not be very noticeable.
In this case, try other surreund medes, witheut werrying about their names, te create a seund field suited te yeur tastes.
NOTE 1 : When playing sources recorded in monaural, the sound will be one-sided if signals are only input to one channel deft er right), so input
signals to beth channels. If yeu have a seurce component with only ene audio output (menephenic camcerder, etc.) obtain a "Y" adapter
cable te split the mene output te two outputs, and connect te the L and R inputs.
Personal Memory Plus
This set is equipped with a personal memorize function that automatically memorizes the surreund modes and input modes selected fer the
input different sources. When the input source is switched, the modes set for that seurce last time it was used are automatically recalled.
