While pressing
the shutter button halfway,
press the []
button.
• The flash pre-fires to acquire the exposure value required for the subject,
and _ appears on the LCD monitor (or viewfinder).
• Each time you press the []
button, the flash exposure locks at the
required intensity for that composition.

Recompose
the image and shoot.

FE Lock is not available while _) is displayed on the LCD monitor (or
_1_ viewfinder).
The built-in flash fires with automatic flash adjustments (except in the
M mode), but it is possible to set it so that it fires without any
adjustments.

Select [Flash Adjust]
from the
[[_
(Rec.)]
menu.
See Selecting Menus and Settings (p. 73).

Use the <i or I_ button to select [Auto] or [Manual]
and
press the MENU button.
