Replacing The Date Battery - Canon POWERSHOT S2 IS User Manual

Ifthe Set D ate/Time menu appears when y ou turn onthe camera
power, the date battery charge islow and the date a nd time s ettings
have b een l ost. Please replace the battery with acommercially
available lithium c oin b attery (CR1220) with the following procedures.
Please notethat thefirst datebatterymayappear to expirerelativelyquickly
after you purchasethe camera.Thisis becauseit is installedin the camera
at the po nt of manufacture,not when you make the purchase.

Be particularly careful to keep the date batteries out of the reach of
children. Seek medical assistance immediately if a child swallows a battery

I Turn off the power and slide the
battery cover in the direction of the
arrows.
2 Remove the AA-size batteries, then
pull out the battery holder by
hooking your fingertip under the
bottom of the battery holder edge,
3 Remove the old date battery and
place a new date battery into the terminal
date battery holder with the (+)
positive terminal (+) facing
upward.
4 Replace the date battery holder, replace the AA-size
batteries and close the battery cover.
tf you ever dispose of your camera, first remove the date
battery for recycling according to the recycling system of your
country.
