Causes
The machine's memory
reached capacity while origi-
nals were being scanned from
the ADF to perform sort copy-
ing.
A cover is open.
The fax could not be sent.
2-sided copy could not be per-
formed because the tray does
not contain the valid size pa-
per, which are A4, Letter or
Legal.
Paper has been jammed in the
duplex unit.
The scan file exceeds the size
limit for files that can be sent
through e-mail.
Error and Status Messages on the Screen
Solutions
Press the {Clear/Stop} key to
print the originals that were
successfully scanned into
memory. Then, copy again the
originals left in the ADF.
Close the cover completely.
• Confirm that the fax num-
ber you dialed is correct.
• Confirm that the destina-
tion is a fax machine.
• Confirm that the line is not
busy.
• You may need to insert a
pause between dial digits.
Press the {Pause/Redial}
key after, for example, the
area code.
• Specify the tray containing
the A4, Letter or Legal size
paper in the [Paper Select]
setting. See p.202 "Copy
Settings".
• Specify the A4, Letter or
Legal size for the tray se-
lected for printing copies
in the [Paper Size] setting.

Remove the jammed paper.

duce the scanning
