Tyre pressure monitoring system

The vehicle is equipped with a system that monitors the tyre pressure
by means of special sensors that are secured inside the wheel rims, in
position with the inflation valve. These sensors transmit a signal that is
detected by the antennas fastened on the car body behind the gravel
guards and connected to the ECU.
The system can momentarily experience radio-electric interference emitted by
devices using similar frequencies.
The ECU processes this information and, via the CAN line, transmits
a series of tyre pressure data and any system errors to the instrument
panel.
The signal transmitted by the ECU activates some symbols on the
"TFT" display with two priority levels: a soft warning (sw) if the
pressure decrease in relation to the rated pressure is greater than 0.2
4
bar (2.9 psi) , and a hard warning (hw) if it is greater than 0.4 Bar
(5.8 psi) or if there is a dynamic decrease greater than 0.2 bar/min
(2.9 psi/min).
The calibration button is positioned on the small control panel on the
roof (see page 47).
The system must be calibrated using the button on the roof after tyre
replacement or inflation.
The system warns the driver that there is a drop in
tyre pressure. This warning does not exempt the driver from
periodically checking the tyres and from complying with the
prescribed tyre pressure levels (see label on page 12).
In addition, the system does not inform the driver of sudden
damage to tyres caused by external objects/factors.

Viewing messages on the "TFT" display
By pressing the specific button "DISP" (see page 23) or selecting the
Menu option, the user can access the information screen page A, which
shows the pressure levels for each tyre.
When indication by event occurs (e.g. malfunctions with priority levels
reported), the malfunction is viewed in the place of the information on
tyre pressure levels. The malfunction is displayed for a time equal to
its entire display cycle. When the display cycle ends, the tyre pressure
screen page becomes available again and the summary symbol for the
malfunction is displayed in the specific area until the malfunction is
corrected.
