The vehicle is fitted with speed-sensitive hydraulic steering.
There is a sensor fitted behind the steering wheel which reads the
steering angle and communicates with the shock absorber ECU; this
adjusts the suspension to ensure it is capable of maintaining vehicle
stability in a variety of conditions.
The steering wheel position can be electrically adjusted, in terms of
height and depth, using the control located on the outer side of the
steering column (see page 73). Furthermore, to improve the driver's
seat functions, the system is fitted with an "easy entry" function, which

raises the steering wheel to the maximum position when the driver is
entering and exiting the vehicle.
The hydraulic function of the system varies according to the speed
of the vehicle and allows the driver to exert minimal effort on the
steering wheel when performing parking manoeuvres with the vehicle
stationary.
As the vehicle speed increases, the driver will perceive the steering to
be less assisted, which, on particularly winding roads, ensures greater
steering accuracy and better handling.
