F-code introduction
The ITU-T, the Unted Natons agency that standardzes nternatonal telecom-
muncatons, has created the fax ndustry standard for usng subaddressng and
password-based communcaton.
Wth subaddressng, your machne can perform secure transmssons and pollng.

F-code communcaton more secure.
You can set up an F-code box as a bulletn box or a securty recepton
box.
• Bulletn box — Holds scanned or receved documents n memory and
wats for a pollng request from another F-code com-
patble fax machne.
• Securty box — Documents receved n the securty box are held for
a predetermned (by user) tme perod and are not
prnted automatcally. You wll need to enter an I.D.
code to prnt them.
Ths 4-dgt I.D. code protects the F-code box settngs from unauthor-
zed access. Assgnng an I.D. code s optonal for the bulletn box, but
requred for the securty box.
