User authentication
NOTE
• When the "Authentcaton mode" feature s actvated, you wll be requred to
authentcate yourself usng your doman user name and password pror to access-
ng the machne functons. (Refer to "Network authentcaton settngs" on page
9-49.)
• When the "User Access/Cost Account" feature s actvated for the fax mode, you
wll be requred to logn as an OfficeBrdge user pror to accessng the fax func-
tons. (Refer to "User Access/Cost Accountng" on page 8-8.)
• When the "User Logn Settng" feature s actvated, you wll be requred to logn
as an OfficeBrdge user pror to accessng the machne functons. (Refer to "User
Logn Settng" on page 9-27.)
Sending method
The followng four sendng methods are avalable on your machne.
Memory transmission:
For a normal memory transmsson, your machne: (1) scans the entre document
nto memory, (2) dals the other fax machne, and (3) transmts the document.
Quick memory transmission:
For a quck memory transmsson, your machne doesn't wat to scan all pages nto
memory before dalng. After t scans the first page of your document, your machne
wll dal the other fax machne. When t makes contact, your machne transmts
the stored document from memory whle at the same tme scannng the remanng
pages of your document nto memory.
The quck memory transmsson s defaulted to "ON". However, you can turn the
default to "OFF". (See "Fax settngs" on page 9-6.)
Real-time transmission:
In the followng cases, the machne doesn't use memory for fax sendng.
• When memory transmsson s turned off.
• When the machne's memory s full
In Real tme transmsson, the next page wll not scan untl the current page has
been transmtted.
Notes for real tme transmssons:
• The document glass cannot be used for real tme transmsson.
• You can dal only one destnaton.
Manual transmission:
Use manual transmsson when the other fax machne uses manual recepton or
when you transmt after finshng a phone conversaton.
