Polling communications

Polling reception:

Ths machne can nstruct another machne to transmt a document that s stored
n memory. The phone call s charged to the recevng party (ths machne sde).

Polling transmission:


Pollng transmsson allows someone to retreve a document stored n your
machne's memory. The stored document wll be sent when the other party calls
you. The phone call s charged to another party.
Polling reception
Pollng allows someone to fax a document to you wthout havng to make the call or
pay for t. There are two knds of pollng:
• Regular pollng — Your machne retreves a document from a remote fax
machne.
• F-Code pollng — Your machne retreves a document stored n a F-code boxes
on the remote fax machne. To do ths, you must be communcatng wth another
F-code-complant machne. For more nformaton on F-code communcaton, see
"F-code box feature," on page 5-24.
NOTE
For pollng to work, the remote machne must be set up to be polled.

Regular polling

To set up your machne for regular pollng:

After pressng <Start>, you can stop the communcaton usng the Revew Com-
mands feature. (See page 4-26.)

Make sure the document s loaded n the remote fax machne.
Press <FAX> to dsplay the Fax standby mode.
Press [Others], and [Pollng].
Select [ON] to perform pollng, and then press [Enter].
Press [Enter] to return to the standby dsplay.
Specfy the destnaton and press <Start>.
