Commands can be classified into four major types.

The following commands are used for communications with the Data Carrier.

Command name
READ Reads memory data from the Data Carrier.
WRITE Writes data to the memory of the Data Carrier.
AUTO READ Reads data from the Data Carrier when the Data Carrier is within the
communications area.
AUTO WRITE Writes data to the memory of the Data Carrier when the Data Carrier is
within the communications area.
BUTTON READ Reads data from the memory of the Data Carrier when the activate
switch is pressed.
BUTTON WRITE Writes data to the memory of the Data Carrier when the activate switch
is pressed.
BUTTON AUTO Reads data from the Data Carrier when the Data Carrier enters the
READ communications area after the activate switch is pressed.
BUTTON AUTO Writes data to the memory of the Data Carrier when the Data Carrier
WRITE enters the communications area after the activate switch is pressed.
COPY READ Reads data to be copied using the COPY WRITE command from the
Data Carrier.
COPY WRITE Writes the data read using the COPY READ command to the Data
Carrier.
EXPANSION Divides and reads up to 2 Kbytes of data from the Data Carrier.
DIVIDED READ
EXPANSION Divides and writes up to 2 Kbytes of data to the Data Carrier.
DIVIDED WRITE
EXPANSION Divides and reads up to 2 Kbytes of data from the Data Carrier when
DIVIDED the Data Carrier enters the communications area.
AUTO READ
EXPANSION Divides and writes up to 2 Kbytes of data to the Data Carrier when the
DIVIDED Data Carrier enters the communications area.
AUTO WRITE
EXPANSION Reads up to 2 Kbytes of data from the Data Carrier in a batch.
BATCH READ
EXPANSION Writes up to 2 Kbytes of data to the Data Carrier in a batch.
BATCH WRITE
EXPANSION Reads up to 2 Kbytes of data from the Data Carrier in a batch when the
BATCH Data Carrier enters the communications area.
AUTO READ
EXPANSION Writes up to 2 Kbytes of data to the Data Carrier in a batch when the
BATCH Data Carrier enters the communications area.
AUTO WRITE
EXPANSION Reads up to 2 Kbytes of data from the Data Carrier in a batch after the
BATCH activate switch is pressed.
BUTTON READ
EXPANSION Writes up to 2 Kbytes of data to the Data Carrier in a batch after the
BATCH activate switch is pressed.
BUTTON WRITE
EXPANSION Reads up to 2 Kbytes of data from the Data Carrier in a batch when the
BATCH BUTTON Data Carrier enters the communications area after the activate switch
AUTO READ is pressed.
